Graduated in Arts in 1987 from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, continued her studies majoring in French, Russian and Photography. In 1990 he started a photographic project in Moscow, Russia, returning to Seattle in 1991 where she worked in film. She exhibited in both collective and individual in Europe and the United States.
She published the Hutterite: A World of Grace, Stemmle Edition, Zurich, Switzerland, 1998; American Edition Stemmle, Zurich, Switzerland, 2000; Keeping the Embers Alive: Musicians of Zimbabwe, Africa World Press, 2007; fruits of painstaking work that consecrated internationally.

She was also honored with two major awards given respectively by Aaron Siskind Foundation in 2001 and the Foundation Sacatar in 2004.
She is currently a Fulbright Scholar. She teaches and develops her research at the University of Namibia, Africa.
